Now forming for Fall 2022!
Does your child have an area of intense interest that is not often shared by their classmates? Or maybe they become so excited when talking about their favorite characters, subjects, or activities that they have difficulty participating in peer-to-peer conversation about the topic. If this sounds like your child, a similar interest peer group could be the perfect fit! Similar interest peer groups are forming for upcoming Fall sessions. Each group will be limited to 4 children, similar in age, and facilitated by a pediatric occupational therapist. In these peer groups, children will be able to develop social skills naturally rather than on the basis of a predetermined curriculum. Each group will incorporate sensory input and activities to promote emotional and sensory regulation, with a pediatric occupational therapist available to help children navigate challenging social interactions as they occur. Having a common interest allows children to form authentic friendships and make meaningful social connections.
These groups are open to individuals of all abilities. Groups will be formed prior to September and begin the week of September 12th. Day and time of each group will be determined by the interests, ages, and availability of group members. Groups are 1 hour in duration, with each session running for 6 consecutive weeks at a cost of $240 per session. Payment in full is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable.
